Well, no go! 4.x frontend tools do not support the relay module, I couldn't get them to work. Here is an excerpt from the ENGREL_5.0 release notes: Some new database server product features require new functionality in the application development tools before they can be accessed. For example, the introduction of the Relay Module in INFORMIX-NET is not supported in a Version 4.X of an application development tool.
