RE: SIS: Talk about a shift in partners...

No Jerry, You misunderstood. We're talking about new customers to Peoplesoft, not existing Peoplesoft customers. LETS BE CLEAR. WHAT WE ARE TALKING ABOUT NEW CUSTOMERS THAT ARE CONSIDERING PEOPLESOFT NOT EXISTING IDS or DB2 CUSTOMERS. Sorry to shout, but reading is fundamental. The point was if a customer was to look at Peoplesoft, which backend would the sales rep push? Which would interest the customer the most. If the customer is not an IDS or DB2 shop, then the rep would push Oracle. The customer would lean towards Oracle since its the same database as the company that owns Peoplesoft so you know that you will always have the latest version of the database supported by peoplesoft. -G > Date: Tue, 26 Aug 2008 07:06:29 -0700 > From: bigdaddyjerry@yahoo.com > Subject: Re: SIS: Talk about a shift in partners... > To: informix-list@iiug.org; im_gumby@hotmail.com > > You've been out of Sales for awhile haven't you Gumby....What you stated isn't anything like the real world. > > We've had Oracle in our shop for awhile doing a major PeopleSoft upgrade and no one from Oracle or the 3rd party consulting group is pushing anything on us. > > They have no problem with us running Informix and they aren't having any problems certifying Informix. > > They're just happy to have our business. > > > --- On Mon, 8/25/08, Ian Michael Gumby <im_gumby@hotmail.com> wrote: > > > From: Ian Michael Gumby <im_gumby@hotmail.com> > > Subject: Re: SIS: Talk about a shift in partners... > > To: informix-list@iiug.org > > Date: Monday, August 25, 2008, 5:32 PM > > On Aug 25, 4:31 pm, "da...@smooth1.co.uk" > > <da...@smooth1.co.uk> wrote: > > > > > Do the peoplesoft sales team recommend oracle as the > > primary database > > > to go with peoplesoft? > > > > > > After all it is the same company so why would they > > want the revenue to > > > go elsewhere? > > > > Most likely.
