UNIX vs NT

Hello everyone, I was wondering if anyone out there have any experience in using Informix on UNIX or NT. My question is what would be the preferred environment. My other question is would Informix databases be compatible to either MS Access or BRIO? What I'm trying to do is create a database for generating reports only. Any help would be appreciated.
