Similar, but not complete, results can be achieved with Clarrion (DG and StorageTek) units, the difference between them is the service. EMC's service is unparralleled. The thing calls Boston with even a burp and within 5 minutes we have a call from our local rep here in Denver. Since we are running public safety systems (Police, Fire, Emergency Dispatch) this is important to us. EMC will attempt to quote you sizing based on 1,000,000,000 / gig - don't let them - call them on it up front and immediately. This is the mainframe method of calculating space, not the UNIX/Open Systems. We use 1024 x 1024. The bottom line is significant in terms of USABLE, FORMATTED disk space. Good Luck. -----== Posted via Deja News, The Leader in Internet Discussion ==----- http://www.dejanews.com/ Now offering spam-free web-based newsreading
