ORACLE vs. Informix Performance: What Is Fastest?

My client is running Informix 5.0 on an Intergraph 6850 box under CLIX 7.5; unfortunately, they are experiencing unacceptable performance. Intergraph says they are running the same rulebase in Huntsville using ORACLE 7, and not experiencing any performance problems. Does this sound legitimate? We are talking about 1.5 hours in Informix vs. several minutes in ORACLE.
