In the States I tended to drink Michelob, but in general I found the alcohol content in US beers to be so low that I would fall asleep in the wee small hours well before my blood-alcohol content caused me to slip into obnoxious mode. That was years ago, when drinking lots of beer was important to me. As for the rest of the post, well, you're quite right, I certainly *did* over-react.
