I need some advice please We are developing in a client server environment, Delphi on Windows NT front-end with Informix Dynamic Server 7.X on SCO UNIX. We had some consultants taking as for a ride. We are currently experiencing major problems with our reporting (Reporting have been done via Microsoft Access). We would like to replace our "reporting concept", I am looking for advice on some proven concepts that I might investigate. Any advice would be appreciated. We are using Delphi 4 C/S and IDS WE on NT. Till this time we used text reports (Queries to TextFile), now we plan to make graphics reports. We test Report Builder Pro, it works fine (See www.digital-metaphors.com). We're also looking for a Report Writer but are not interested in a NT based Product. Does anyone know of a Report Writer which will run on Either HP-UX or Linux? The users which would run the Report Writer would be on Xterminals. Thanks in Advance! -Paul -- Internet: | Paul J. Falbe | falbe@cassens.com | Cassens Transport | Std disclaimers apply. We bought something called db-power a few years ago. It was a 4gl that ran through the esql compile engine and produced stand-alone binaries that queried the informix database (SE in our case) and produced postscript output. We have been very pleased with it. The company changed names, but you can still surf to www.dbpower.com. The product is called Saffron something-or-other, and they have never responded to emails or web page forms for further product information. We just upgraded to 7.20 and the reports had to be re-compiled, but that was it on the dbpower side.
