According to the book, it is not recommended. > Regards Your cacheing rate for writes is very poor. At the risk of stating the obvious, you have far more physical memory on your "R40". So you can experiment with much higher values of BUFFERS than before. Off the top of my head, I might start with BUFFERS set to 50,000 (100MBytes) and see how that goes.
