Very true, if: the user has all or most of his apps looking the latest; the majority (or a substantial number of) developers have actually implemented those developments. Either way, it is admitted that NE 2.x was behind the times. But one can still design their system with 2.x and gain the new interface when 3.0 is available to them. Thus, I don't have to hold up my development life cycle for the interface, neither do I need to use D2000, since the time for NE 3.0 is nigh. > With NewEra ver. 3.0 OLE Controls (OCX's) are finally supported so it > should be reasonably simple to include modern control types. I don't really care about ActiveX, that's just another attempt of Microsoft to control yet another area of computing. 'sides, Java has more potential for both developer and end users. I would rather put my investment in Java. > PS.: Do anybody know if the built in report function has been upgraded > to support better printing? That is font control and positioned > printing. I'm not sure what you mean here. If you use ViewPoint Pro, you can print some decent looking reports. In 15 minutes I created a Master-Detail report with a graphic logo, text-in-a-box, and used Times Roman and Arial [though I could have picked any] fonts in regular and bold, center, left and right justified. What additional control do you require? Also, the report ran fast. --Tim > :P.S. Ask a D2000 person what they think of the report tool! 8-D
