As far as I know the code streams for 7.x, 8.x (XPS), and 9.x (IUS) have not been merged yet, this was planned for a later 7.3x release and 7.30 is only in Beta. However, if you post your performance requirements I'm certain someone with similar needs can respond with examples of what has and has not worked for them. For example our News System is a 150GB database we handle 5000-7000 data requests per minute peak load and insert from 30000-60000 new stories a day. This is on ODS 7.21UD3 on a 32 CPU Data General M88K SMP system with 75MHZ processors and DG Clariion disk arrays with all chunks allocated as logical drives in a large stripe set made up from 30 mirrored pairs of 9GB Fast Wide SCSI II drives. We are benchmarking a new system on a Sun with 16 250MHZ UltraSPARK CPUs and ODS 7.24UC3 shortly. We currently run 5 machines to support all 87000 users and hope that the faster Sun boxes will let us reduce that to 4 machines. Art S. Kagel
