RE: ODBC network drive

No you will have to install ODBC on every desktop. Why don't u use Microsoft SMS, to roll out applications. Maybe the name has changed, and sure there are other tools available that can do the same job. -----Original Message----- From: Kevin_Dewsnup@agsea.com [mailto:Kevin_Dewsnup@agsea.com] Sent: Thursday, 11 January, 2001 9:48 PM To: informix-list@iiug.org Subject: ODBC network drive Most of our desktops have the old Informix 2.8 ODBC drivers which allow some VB front ends to connect to the database. There is a need to upgrade to the latest version ( I think Informix 3.32 ODBC ). Installing the new drivers on every PC doesn't seem like the right way to manage it. Doesn't sound too appealing either. Is there a way to install ODBC on a network drive, set up all the DSN's there in one place? Is there a different driver that I should be looking at, which will allow this type of functionality? Current version: Informix 7.30UC6 upgrading to 9.20UC2 soon Thanks in advance, -Kevin
