Re: Informix form

I assume you are using OnLine. If you are using SE, you are out of luck.
Using OnLine, create a SYNONYM in each database for the Enroll table:
CREATE SYNONYM Enroll FOR hivres:enroll;
Use the synonym in your forms.
Yes: switching databases, especially remote databases, means that prepared
statements are lost. ISQL assumes that your code does not change the database.

}I have an interesting Informix form problem. Please advise me
}what I should do.
}
}Problem:
}-------
}
}Our system consists of more than 1 databases such as Hivres, RV26,
}RV18 and so on.
}
}In the Hivres database we have a table call enroll. This table will
}keep informations about our clients and each client will have an ID.
}
}From the Informix form, before records are added into their tables,
}a C-function is called to verify the ID from the Informix form and the ID
}in enroll. If not found, the error message will be displayed.
}
}There is no problem if the Informix form and the Enroll table point to
}the same database.
}
}If I open the informix form in different database (RV26) and use
}a C function to open the table Enroll in Hivres to verify ID point then
}we get error. It shows me that Informix loose control the pointer
}when I switch from one database to another and return back to the
}original one.
}
}I know that Informix can not open more than one database at a time.
}Is there any way to solve this problem.
