Re: Using dbexport

In article <5au2s9$kbo@cssun.mathcs.emory.edu>,
If your site is not a 24hr, 7 days a week site, there can be a slot
in time (daily or weekly), when, using cron, you can force a restart
of ONLINE (thus knocking off all users!) and then running your
dbexport.
A restart of ONLINE can be achieved by running a script with the
following commands.
onmode -ky # Shutdown immediately
oninit -s # Initialize shared memorysleep 10 # Quiescent may take some time to register
onmode -m # go online.
(note : make sure your environment is set in your script - INFORMIXSERVER,
INFORMIXDIR, ONCONFIG & PATH)
Following the restart, dbexport will run normally.
Hope this helps.
