A newcomer created a 2000000 KB chunk with onspaces but oncheck -pe showed size 500000. Michael Schmid, Tilman Model-Bosch and Obnoxio The Clown explained that onspaces takes KB while oncheck reports pages; with 4 KB pages (Windows) 2000000 KB equals 500000 pages. Solved.

oncheck reports in pages (not in kb)
Seems you are on windows (where page size is 4 kb normally).
Consider:
2000000 kb
---------- = 500000 pages
4 kb/page
