Sysdistrib behavior: 11.50 versus 11.70

Interesting behavior I noticed between 11.50 and 11.70 regarding the sysdistrib table. On 11.50.FC9XA if I run dostats on a table, it updates the sysdistrib for that table. If I run it on 11.70.FC3, it does not. I have to run dostats with the -L and then re-run the dostats for the sysdistrib table to get updated. Anybody else notice this behavior? Joe
In v11.70 and later, if AUTO_STAT_MODE is set in the onconfig file (default if not present), update statistics will ONLY perform work if the number of inserts, updates, and deletes against the table since the last time stats were updated exceeds the STATCHANGE level that is set either in the ONCONFIG file or as an attribute to individual tables. The default STATCHANGE level is 10%. This is similar to use the dostats "-b -B 10" options. If this threshold of changes has not been exceeded then update statistics doesn't do anything, the commands that dostats runs become no-op. You can change the behavior back to the way it worked in v11.50 and earlier by setting AUTO_STAT_MODE to zero (0). You can override this no-op behavior in individual update statistics comands by adding the FORCE clause which can be enabled in dostats using the --force-run option. Art Art S.
