Try:
DBSERVERNAME ss10
DBSERVERALIASES ss10t
NETTYPE ipcshm,,,CPU
NETTYPE soctcp,,,NET
And of course uncomment the sqlhosts and services line.
I'm not sure it will help, but it is worth to try it.

Hi Octav !
Many thanks for your advise. I didn't know there's ',,,CPU/,,,NET'
syntax, so I tried as you suggested. But I 've got :
"oninit: Fatal error in initializing ASF with 'ASF_INIT_DATA' flags;
asfcode = '
25507'."
'Course I did uncomment corresponding sqlhosts, services and onconfig
lines.
Obviously I can't initialize the DB at the moment, though I can try this
with the
new DB.
I see that 25507 is :
'You specified an unknown service name or protocol.
Tell your database administrator to examine the sqlhosts file entry. Check
that the NETTYPE settings in the ONCONFIG file match the NETTYPE settings
in the sqlhosts file.'
As far as I can see, the only diff is 'on' part (ie. ipcshm/soctcp) on the
onconfig file.
And I don't understand what functions '.infos.ss10' and 'oncfg_ss10.0',
which are generated after DB's being initialized, are doing... Would the
changes in sqlhosts
and onconfig file are relevant to these files in any way ??
I really appreciate for your help.
Best regards,
ps. ummm.... I'm ashamed to say that I had to lookup my map to locate
R.O.M !!!
