Hello all, I tried to insert a .jpg image in a byte column created in a blobspace but it didn't work. With a .bmp image it worked. Can anybody help me to understand what is the problem? Silviu

A priori, there is no reason why a bag of bytes formatted like a BMP image can be stored and a bag of bytes formatted like a JPEG image cannot. So, something must have been significantly different (it might also be a small difference, but whatever the difference, it was significant). Also, was the trouble that the image was not inserted, or that you are unable to retrieve the inserted value. Which version of IDS? Which platform? Which toolkit? You might find the 'auxilliary tools' (such as insblob, updblob, selblob, selmultiblob) in the SQLCMD source code at the IIUG Software archive useful - at least as demo code. -- Jonathan Leffler #include <disclaimer.h> Email: jleffler@earthlink.net, jleffler@us.ibm.com Guardian of DBD::Informix v2005.02 -- http://dbi.perl.org/
