I don't believe ANY of the memory is shared - it's ALL process space. Too much of this, and you start to see thrashing. [not a performance enhancement, by any means]. We've been working with Informix support for 6 months to resolve this problem. Our servers are up for weeks/months, and continue to grow. The latest Online 4.10 release is UG2 - it has some bug fixes in it that resolve problems, although WE'RE STILL SEEING GROWTH. Our only current work-around is to monitor the total memory used, compare to our swap space, and when we get too close, we start killing processes. UGLY, to say the least. Hope this helps, Standard discalimers apply. Ihor Kinal att!trumpet!ijk
