Response:
Well first off, when you say "table statistics cache" I'm assuming you mean
the cache the server uses for data distributions (as reported by the onstat -g
cac dst command). A quick command to get the information about the "dictpool"
and the "dstpool" (that should be the pool used for the shared data dictionary
and the distribution dictionary) would be this:
select * from syspools
where po_name = "dictpool" or po_name = "dstpool";
example output from my tiny test instance:
po_id 32
po_address 1176387648
po_name dstpool
po_class 2
po_freeamt 1640
po_usedamt 6552
po_id 30
po_address 1176350784
po_name dictpool
po_class 2
po_freeamt 1168
po_usedamt 199536
2 row(s) retrieved.
I made sure I had run 1 query on a table with a single column that I had built
distributions on (so onstat -g cac dst does have 1 entry in it)...so very
small portions of onstat -g cac dst and onstat -g dic output as well:
onstat -g cac dst
...
Total number of distribution entries : 1
onstat -g dic
...Total number of dictionary entries: 22
From the query you would be interested in the po_freeamt and po_usedamt which
is the free memory in the pool and the used memory in each of the respective
pools.
