2008 Survey
Posted in 2008
Starts as an IIUG post asking why fewer people filled in the 2008 feature-request survey (top 10 requests listed, e.g. online table reorg, index advisor, ontape point-in-time restore), but only one reply addresses that ('forgot, then it closed'). The thread then turns into a mail-formatting problem: Kate's Outlook posts arrive as raw quoted-printable (=2E, =0D=0A) making them unreadable. Others asked her to post in plain text and joked about it; the only suggestions were to drop Outlook for Thunderbird (or Linux). No actual fix is recorded.

Hey everyone,
I wanted to get some input from anyone who did not fill out our 2008 survey
on new feature requests. Can anyone who missed the survey comment on why?
I'm trying to analyze why we got over 100 less users to fill it out than we
did in 2007.
If you haven't read the insider yet, here were the top 10 requests:
1) Add ability to perform an online table reorg
2) Add Index Advisor command line utility to identify missing indexes and
unused indexes
3) Add ability to automatically capture detailed information on all deadlocks
4) Improve Table Level Restore interface
5) Add ability to use High Performance Loader with dbexport and dbimport
6) Add Parallel Load support
7) Add kernel parameter suggestions to the Configuration Advisor
8) Add Point in Time restore capabilities for ontape
9) Add dbaccess utility to the CSDK bundle so application boxes can have
access to Informix without needing an additional DB license.
10)Add ability for dbaccess LOAD statement to commit every N rows to avoid
long transactions
Thanks!

I'm prepared for all emergencies but totally unprepared for everyday
life.
I really forget about it... (to much things to do right now, I suppose)
When I remembered and tryed it was gone... :(
Other has been the case I filled it for sure.
