Dear Net.Wisdom.Informix, I have a question regarding implementing a Novell-like pop-up menu in Informix 4gl. Characteristics of the menu are: - use of arrow keys to scroll up and down - character input which will be matched against the alphabetized display list ie. take the following list: Eight Five Four One Seven Six Three Two Entering the characters 's' and 'e' will cause 'Seven' to be highlighted. - pressing <return> selects the highlighted item This is seemingly straight forward programming except that in 4gl I can not determine how to use the arrow keys outside of a DISPLAY ARRAY and inside the DISPLAY ARRAY I cannot figure out how to implement the charactor input. What I have done so far is to implement a simple homegrown display array using a (DISPLAY "such and such" AT row_variable, 1) inside a FOR loop and then (PROMPT "" FOR CHAR char_variable) to determine the appropriate action. The problem here is that PROMPT will not read arrow keys and I can not figure out how to map the arrow keys so I can use them within a PROMPT. I can use CONTROL-P and CONTROL-N, but I would much prefer to use the arrow keys. If you can give me any insight I would really appreciate it!
