Fair enough too. I fully agree. String manipulation is particular is pretty chronic. But *most* 4GL applications spend the vast majority of their life waiting on users to type stuff into screens, or waiting for SQL statements to be completed by the database engine. In those situations you aren't any better off with C-4GL. So I guess it depends on what the application does most of.
