It happens both in RDS and C-Code. * * We have seen this problem in a slightly different way. If your menu is * larger than what can fit on a single screen so that the "..." appears on the * right, and if the first option on the next screen is a "command key" option, * then pressing the down arrow key will have disasterous consequences! We have * found that the only solution is to avoid having the first option on the next * page a command key. Sometimes, we simply re-arranged the order of the * options. Other times, because of things like "hide option", this is * unreliable, and we have resorted to changing the option names from: * * command key ("D") "aDd" * * to * * command "D:aDd" * * This is ugly, but seems the only workaround that will always work! * Furthermore, in our application, when the 4GL hangs, the application process * gradually sucks up more and more cpu time. We are running on a Sequent 750 * with multiple processors, and a 4GL process that hangs this way can * eventually consume nearly 100% of the processor it is attached to. Informix * really needs to fix this one! We have run into this one before, also. The problem now is not in the COMMAND KEY area. I know this only because the menu doesn't have any. It's when a menu option that is just on the other side of the "..." and is hidden with the HIDE OPTION statement is where we are having the problems. Included is a sample program that fails on our system.
