Unloads in 2.10 will do >things like format a null date as "00/00/00" which is an error in 5.0X. >(I seem to remember "12/31/1899" poping up alot also) Excuse me, but I think you are confusing Informix 3.30 (the pre-SQL Informix product) with ISQL 2.10.03K (and I4GL 1.10.03K). The null date is not stored as 00/00/00 in any Informix SQL database. There is no requirement to unload the data, even though the database will probably work better if it is. >All of your acego and perform files need to be converted. Again, I think there is confusion on which product. It would be a good idea to recompile the reports and forms, but even that is probably not necessary. >The select statements have changed (to ANSII SQL). They haven't changed. Or, more precisely, there are no statements which were available in 2.10.03K which are not also available in the more recent versions. There are many things available in more recent versions which were not available in the 2.10.03K version, of course. >This isn't difficult, just make sure your results are the same between old >and new. Good advice, though it should be unnecessary, unless you've managed to use an undefined feature which has since changed behaviour. >If I remember correctly there are some syntax difference too. Not that affect this transition... Yours, Jonathan Leffler (johnl@informix.com) #include <disclaimer.h>
