Was there any error message? We had a similar problem on HP which we solved with this one-liner... ln -s /stand/vmunix /hp-ux This solves the problem because onperf expects the unix kernel to be in the root directory and called "hp-ux" but HP moved the kernel to "vmunix" in /stand with one of their releases of HP-UX.
