Concatenation problem

Hi, I have table t with columns a (char(2)) and b (char(1)) with two rows like: a b A B AA B, I want to concatenate first and second column but without blank space among them. When I execute the following query: select a || b from t, I get the following result: A B AAB, and I would like to get: AB AAB. Is it possible to do?
