Hi, I assume you are using the 2.0.36 kernel. Did you download the large file descriptor patch? You should be able to get it from the same site where you got IDS. Any idea why OnLine works only on 2.0.36 kernel? bye Damijan > > > > > > >I have problem with OnLine 7.3 on Linux RH5.2. > > >I made unrpm of Informix OnLine 7.3 and prepared all the stuff. > > >Server works ok only with shared memory. The large file descriptor patch that is on the RH site is good for 2.0.x kernels ONLY. There is a way to patch a 2.2.x kernel. Look through the IIUG archives for CDI for the last three weeks. There was a fix for 2.2.x posted by someone on the IDN newsgroup a month or two ago and I cross posted it here a few weeks ago for someone else. It involves changing a value or three and rebuilding the kernel. Art S. Kagel

Kagel Hi, I aplied patches (well few changes in fs.h, limits.h and -soix_types.h). Now IDS works well on 2.2.6 kernel. The problem now is, that nfs doesn't work any more. Probably should be recompiled too. Damijan
