OnBar Backup & Recovery Failures

Environment:- HP-UX 11 OnLine 7.24.UC5 BaaN Application software 3 processor architecture We are experiencing problems using OnBar ( via Omniback II ) in that sometimes, when the archive starts first thing in the morning, the engine hangs reporting CHKPNT BLOCKED: ARCHIVE. Now, I have done a bit of research on this problems, which appeared to be a known bug in 7.23 but was supposed to be fixed in 7.24.UC3 ( Informix are checking this out for us as we speak but not having much success ). The way in which you are supposed to clear it is by killing off the session that is running the onbar processes but this still doesn't work so we have to resort to killing off the master oninit process ( yes, yes, I know you shouldn't do this but when onmode -ky won't even work, what else is there to do ?? ). Has anyone else had the same sort of problems ?? Also, point-in-time recovery doesn't appear to work either ( again, using Omniback and onbar ). When we tried it, it continued to restore way past the logical log reference and eventually failed ( because we didn't have any more logs !! ). We eventually got back to point-in-log recovery from the command line which worked fine. Any suggestions ?? All responses ( however fickle ) welcome !! Thanks in advance SK
