Error -369 when trying to open JDBC Connection

I am trying to open a JDBC Connection using the following code: try { Class.forName("informix.api.jdbc.JDBCDriver"); } catch (ClassNotFoundException e) { System.out.println("Could not load Informix JDBC driver."); System.exit(-1); } try { String url = "jdbc:informix-api-direct:;database=webdb"; Connection connection = DriverManager.getConnection(url); } catch (SQLException e) { System.out.println(e.getMessage()); System.exit(-1); } When I run it I get an SQLException with the message: "XIX000:-369:Invalid serial number. Please consult your installation instructions." Find Error gives the following description for error -369: "Some error has been made in the installation of your Informix product(s). Check the value in the SQLEXEC environment variable (for database server versions prior to 6.0) and INFORMIXDIR environment variable; then consult the person who installed the software, and review the installation instructions." The Informix product in question is Informix Dynamic Server with Universal Data Option, version 9.14UC2. The INFORMIXDIR environment variable is set correctly. The application is server-side, so the connection should be a direct one. Any help is _much_ appreciated.
