SQLTURBO's Not Dying
Answered: red (solid confidence) — This single archived message is itself the original question (orphaned sqlturbo processes lingering under I-Star); no reply is captured in the archive.

We have a client/server environment running on our RS/6000 980/320's with the 980 acting as our server and three 320's acting as clients. Occasionally, we get a situation where our sqlturbo's on the server side do not die. That is, a turbo is created - the user logs off on the client side and the turbo on the server lingers on for 30 minutes! As you would imagine, after 20 - 30 minutes are sqlturbo count increases to 300 or 350 (normal ~180). After the sqlturbo count reaches 340 or so, all the orphaned turbo's die and the turbo count goes to its normal level of ~180. We are running On-Line 5.00 with I-Star 5.00.UC4. Is this an I-Star problem? TCP/IP? Incidentally, the extra server sqlturbo's have NOTRANS attached to them when we view the output to tbtat -u. Comments and suggestions are welcome (Informix is clue-less as to why we are experiencing this problem). -- / ___ \\/\\ \\ /\\ ___\\/\\ __ \\/\\__ _\\ Peter Farley /\\ ___ \\ \\ \\__\\ \\ __\\\\ \\ __<\\/_/\\ \\/ Database Administator \\ \\ \\_/\\ \\ \\____\\ \\_____\\ \\_\\ \\_\\ \\ \\_\\ Alert Centre, Inc. \\/_/ \\/_/\\/____/\\/_____/\\/_/\\/_/ \\/_/ pef@alert.com/(303)488-7858
