Translating with DrWatson… this can take a few seconds the first time.
This is a genuine, complex translation. DrWatson protects commands, error codes, and log output while naturally translating the surrounding text. It’s translated once and saved.
A query about whether IDS 9.5 had shipped and what new features it would contain. No technical problem is involved; the thread is informational. Posters pointed to Mark Scranton's feature list on the IIUG site, with an IBM participant noting that page covers only a subset of the real feature set and hinting at extras (less invasive index builds, ER and alter improvements, new ways to create HDR and to confirm you're hitting the HDR primary). Others highlighted table-level restore, configurable page size and column-level encryption. Release was still months away, so no firm ship date is recorded.
Auto-generated by DrWatson from the posts below — may be imperfect; read the full thread.

The list of 9.5 features are available at Mark Scranton's web site (part of
the IIUG website) at
http://www.iiug.org/markscranton/informix/ids_95_features.htm

This is a rather small subset of the 9.5 feature set.

Nevertheless there are at least two juicy items:
- Table level restore (finally)
- Configurable page size
But we'll have to wait a few months more.

Yes Madison it is.
Would you like to point us to a link that has a larger list?

We're not supposed to be talking about stuff prior to release. But
some things that will be less invasive is index builds, ER and alters,
some extra means of creating HDR, a new way to ensure that we are
getting to the primary server in an HDR pair, etc....

Wow !!!!! Col. level ebcryption. What a great feature. This is what I
was looking for a long time as Oracle has it from a long time. Well
done guys. This will be another major step towards implementing best
practice for database security at our work. Would be great to know
more details of new features.
