Stefano, Why don't you set the environment variable CLASSPATH to point to the $INFORMIXDIR/lib/java/lib/classes directory. We have some problem loading the Informix inplementation of the driver. The driver classes are located in the directory: $INFORMIXDIR/lib/java/lib/classes The JDBCDriver class needs a native dynamic loading library which is located in $INFORMIXDIR/lib/java/lib/sparc; the name of the library is libIfmxLibmiNatives.so . We have added the LD_LIBRARY_PATH environment variable as follows: setenv LD_LIBRARY_PATH $INFORMIXDIR/lib/java/lib/sparc The problem is that if we try to run a simple java program, the java runtime doesn't link the dynamic library and responds us with this error message: java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: no IfmxLibmiNatives in shared library path at java.lang.Runtime.loadLibrary(Runtime.java) at java.lang.System.loadLibrary(System.java) at at informix.api.direct.DirectCredentials.<init>(DirectCredentials.java:65) at informix.api.direct.DirectCredentials.<init>(DirectCredentials.java:54) at informix.api.jdbc.JDBCDriver.connect(JDBCDriver.java:87) at java.sql.DriverManager.getConnection(DriverManager.java:91) at java.sql.DriverManager.getConnection(DriverManager.java:149) at Prova.main(Prova.java:24) Can we do something else other than set LD_LIBRARY_PATH ?
