Using HP Loader question on Indexes

According to my recall, HP Loader bypasses indexes. Also, I believe I can load from one table right into another. I'm going to use HP to load a huge table during refragmenting. Normally, I create the indexes last, after the load. But, if HP Loader doesn't update indexes, I'm thinking it would be quicker to create the new table, and immediately create the indexes, which should take no time because there's no data, and then load with HP Loader. Is what I'm saying correct ? One more question: I can use HP Loader to load directly from one table into another, correct ? Thanks Much.
