In newer versions of IDS you can use the dbinfo() routine:
SELECT dbinfo('version','full') FROM systables WHERE tabid = 1;
The second argument can also be 'major', 'minor', 'os', 'server-type'
and 'level'.
Since dbinfo() functionallity has developed over time early versions of
dbinfo() may not support the 'version' argument.
