Re: Sorry, Yet another TERMCAP type query!

Liam, INFORMIXTERM is basically for terminfo type settings. terminfo is the database created by tic (the terminfo compiler). For termcap settings, export the environment variable TERMCAP=${INFORMIXDIR}/etc/termcap. To reiterate ... (assuming an xterm) % TERM=vt100; export TERM % TERMCAP=${INFORMIXDIR}/etc/termcap; export TERMCAP If you have modified the termcap file, then your modifications should be made to the ${INFORMIXDIR}/etc/termcap file. Also, make sure your stty settings are proper. PS :- If you are switching to newer versions of SunOS (5.x), termcap support *may* disappear at some stage, and only terminfo might be supported. But you can still convert termcap to terminfo with such ingenious tools like `captoinfo' etc. -- Bobby +---------------------------------------------------------------------------+ | Informix Software Inc. 4100 Bohannon Drive, Menlo Park, California 94025 | | Telephone: +415 926-6502 Fax: +415 926-6571 E-Mail: bobbys@informix.com | +------------------------standard-disclaimers-apply-------------------------+ On 16 Feb 1996, Liam Kenneally wrote: | Hi, | | Specs: OnLine 4.10 on SunOS and Tandem platforms. | | I know there was a lot of discussion on termcap a while ago.
