IBM RS/6000, AIX4.1.5, and DS7.23
Posted in 1997
Has anyone experienced memory problems with running Online DS7.23 on a
PowerPC based RS/6000 (2 CPUs) with AIX 4.1.5 as the OS 256MB physical
and 448MB paging? We seem to experience a major slow-down in system
performance which seems to be related to quite a bit of memory
swapping. Here are some of the onconfig params:
LOCKS 10000 # Maximum number of locks
BUFFERS 400 # Maximum number of shared buffers
NUMAIOVPS # Number of IO vps
PHYSBUFF 64 # Physical log buffer size (Kbytes)
LOGBUFF 128 # Logical log buffer size (Kbytes)LOGSMAX 16 # Maximum number of logical log files
CLEANERS 6 # Number of buffer cleaner processes
SHMBASE 0x30000000L # Shared memory base address
SHMVIRTSIZE 32768 # initial virtual shared memory segmentsize
SHMADD 8192 # Size of new shared memory segments
(Kbytes)
SHMTOTAL 0 # Total shared memory (Kbytes).
0=>unlimited
CKPTINTVL 300 # Check point interval (in sec)
LRUS 8 # Number of LRU queues
LRU_MAX_DIRTY 50 # LRU percent dirty begin cleaning limit
LRU_MIN_DIRTY 20 # LRU percent dirty end cleaning limit
LTXHWM 50 # Long transaction high water markpercentage
LTXEHWM 60 # Long transaction high water mark
(exclusive)
TXTIMEOUT 300 # Transaction timeout (in sec)
STACKSIZE 32 # Stack size (Kbytes)
