Updating BLOBS via dbaccess?

This is probably a stupid question, but I don't have a manual and my only Informix SQL book doesn't address it. Is it possible to update a TEXT BLOB via dbaccess? I think I may need something like: UPDATE tab SET blobfield = ? WHERE .... But the secret still eludes me.
