Hi,
We are using the same setup for some of the users so that they can dial in
and can work from home.
We are using 7.11UC2, INET5.xx and PB3. We have tried the same using
Windows3.11 and WIN95.
For Windows3.11, we are using Reflection, but have checked Chameleon and is
working fine. We are using PPP interface.
WIN95 works fine w/o Reflection or Chameleon s/w. You need to configure it
for modem /dialup Networking. Using this kind of setup, user can use PB3
application w/o any problems.
We do not have any script as such. We do not dial our main server. We dial our
network machine, which prompts whether we want ppp or telnet session, we
specify ppp and it assigns us some dynamic ipaddress.
If you want to run dbaccess or something like terminal emulator, then you can
use WINDOWS-->ACCESSORIES-->TERMINAL options and using the menu options or AT
commands you can use dialup lines.
I hope this information is helpful to you.
Regards,
Priti

Hi All, We have a client server application using the informix database
on-line 5.07 and Power Builder front-end software. Currently, we have
i-star set up on server and i-connection 7.2 set up on the pc , it works
fine in the office enviroment, but we also like to set up one pc to be
able to remote access from home. We have not yet set the web site up,
but we can dail-in from home to use dbaccess and etc. How can we setup
on client PC which can remote access the database by using the
client-server way (which can run the front-end software). Do we need set
up a script on PPP or SLIP? Does anyone have done this before? Thank
you in advance.
