OS : Windows 2000 Server Database : Informix 7.31 TD1 Programming : Centura Team Developer 1.51 PTF 6 I have the error "Unknown error message -958" with the instruction "create temp table....". I have not this error all times. Please help Me ! Cyril
-958 Temp table <table-name> already exists in session. This statement tries to create a table with the name that is shown, but a temporary table with that name already exists. Only one temporary table with a given name can exist in a session. Looks like a coding issue Cyril wrote: > > OS : Windows 2000 Server > Database : Informix 7.31 TD1 > Programming : Centura Team Developer 1.51 PTF 6 > > I have the error "Unknown error message -958" > with the instruction "create temp table....". > > I have not this error all times. > > Please help Me ! > > Cyril -- Paul Watson # Oninit Ltd # Growing old is mandatory Tel: +44 1436 672201 # Growing up is optional Fax: +44 1436 678693 # Mob: +44 7818 003457 # www.oninit.com #

If the procedure was designed to drop the temp table after processing a FOREACH loop but the user does not fetch all of the rows from a cursor then when the cursor is closed the procedure is canceled and never executes the post-loop code which would drop the temp table. The usual solution is to place a DROP TABLE tmp_tbl_name; statement at the top of the procedure and trap any 'table not in the database' errors in an 'on exception' block that ignores the -206 error. Another good source for these are web applications, as the web is stateless then you can not guarentee the same connection when moving between pages. "Art S.
