Hi Folks, I work for the University Computing Services of UMBC, and my boss has asked me to take a survey of the most popular software tools out there in the market for the following category of users: a) Someone in the upper mgmt. who needs to have a query/reporting tool to access data in a client-server environment: e.g. Borland ReportSmith. b) Clerical/Secreterial users within a department needing Word Processing or Spreadsheet tools: e.g. MicroSoft Office. c) Departmental applications development tools so that a power-user could write their own applications to support the needs of his/her department: e.g. InfoMaker. d) For developers employed by the campus to develop enterprise-wide applications, including client-server applications: e.g. PowerBuilder. So if you are in an University or in Corporate America with user categories siimilar to what I have described above, please respond with suggestions, ideas, or solutions for tools which you think would be the most appropriate for them. Thank you in advance for your time and take care,
