Almost every time I've seen this (and I've seen it a bunch of times) it is caused because the INFORMIX application code is overrunning memory somewhere. This will happen regardless of environment, although it's much easier to do with ESQL/C than with 4GL because of the freedom to shoot yourself in the foot. If you look hard, I'll bet you'll find that you're stomping on memory you shouldn't somewhere. Hope that helps! ============================================================================= | John D.
