Is there any place we could go to find > out what the variable value should be? Go to $INFORMIXDIR/etc and look in the file identified by $ONCONFIG. Look for the config parameters DBSERVERNAME and DBSERVERALIASES. Each of these names MUST be present in the file $INFORMIXDIR/etc/sqlhosts which is the sqlhosts file you should be using. INFORMIXSERVER should be set to one of these servernames or aliases. Art S. Kagel
