Which version of Informix engine (SE/Online, 5/7)? Which version of Sybase? What plaform (HP/Sun/IBM/Sequent/Pyramid)? What operating system and version? What hardware (CPU's/memory/disk/network)? What type of connection (client/server across a network or shared memory)? Using ODBC? Using what database shchema? Using what Informix OnLine configuration? Was it an untuned Online configuration? Remember Online comes supplied with a configuration for a very small instance which uses the least memory/disk and allows you to set it up on very small machines. It needs tuning... -- David Williams
