Informix and PHP

hi, i have an aix server (S1) with informix 9.40 UC5 installed. i have a RHEL4 linux server (S2) with php compiled with informix. when i make a simple request on S1 using php on S2, it takes 10 seconds when i run the query locally or on another linux server (S3) also using php, the result is immediate. the major différence between S2 and S3 is that S3 has IDS (9.40uc2) and client sdk (2.81uc3) installed on it whereas S2 has only Client SDK (2.90 UC4) installed is there any config issue i can look for ? what can i do ? thanks for any suggestions

Run some ping tests between S2<->S1 and S3<->S1 in both directions with 4K packet size to see whether it's the network/OS layers or up in the SDK software. If the pings from/to S2 and S3 are comparable then try installing the 2.81SDK on S2 and see if that fixed the problem. If so, or even if not I guess, contact IBM Tech Support to report the difference between 2.81 aand 2.90 or to get their help diagnosing the problem. Art S.
