Sorry to butt in again, but this seems to be a public forum, so here's my 5 (South African) cents worth (+- 1.666 US cents! :-)) -> It is also possible to load data using the SQL LOAD command, which -> uses a "|" character as field delimiter. Since xbase will output -> comma separated value files, you might be able to manipulate these to -> be acceptable to the LOAD command. You can also set a DBDELIMITER environment variable to you required field delimiter. A small question: Is the target environment DOS or UNIX? I can make a much stronger case for Informix on Unix, and it is something to bear in mind. At the moment, the current release of Informix 4GL on DOS is 4.1 RDS for -Windows-, which requires Microsoft Windows SDK (yes, I know I said RDS!) You thus need machinery that can handle the Windows overhead a ---- Digitec Online - 20 Nodes....* Johannesburg, South Africa +27-11-476-2008 .............................* Best BBS * RsaNET User Choice Awards 1993 first.last@digitec.co.za.....* Best Sysop * RsaNET User Choice Awards 1993
