In place alter question

Hi all, Informix Dynamic Server Version 7.30.UC6 Can anyone tell me if altering columns in a table from money(16,3) to decimal(16,3) will cause an in place alter to take place, or whether it only involves a change to the system tables. The change took only seconds, but I need to change 418 columns over 94 tables, and do not want to degrade performance with lots of in places alters taking place. There is no reason for it to be other than a trivial change in the SysColumns table in the catalogue. Even in very old versions of Informix databases, such changes (eg INTEGER <-> SERIAL) did not rewrite the table. -- Jonathan Leffler (jleffler@informix.com, jleffler@earthlink.net) Guardian of DBD::Informix v0.60 -- see http://www.perl.com/CPAN #include <disclaimer.h>
