CSDK still doesn't work for me

1) Installed csdk230uc11_linux (for kernel 2.2.5, glibc 2.1.1) 2) Installed SE for linux 2.0.34 both are successfull. When I compile using esql filename.ec I got "esql: exec: egcs: not found" for any filename. I am on Linux-Mandrake 6.0 an equivalence of RedHat, where if I type "gcc -v" I'll get gcc version pgcc-2.91.66 19990314 (egcs-1.1.2 release) and I also have installed the compat-egcs for C and C++. Thank you. Jun

Looks like you might be on S.u.S.E. 6.2.
Try setting INFORMIXC to the full pathname for the compiler, e.g.
setenv INFORMIXC /usr/bin/gcc

Colonel,
Thank you for your reply. I am on Linux-Mandrake 6.0. Before I read your
this message, I made a link "ln -s /usr/bin/pgcc egcs", just like the link for
gcc,
and it seems I can compile my filename.ec and get an executable without a
problem. But, is the right way to get around?
