Translating with DrWatson… this can take a few seconds the first time.
This is a genuine, complex translation. DrWatson protects commands, error codes, and log output while naturally translating the surrounding text. It’s translated once and saved.
Ulf asked what limits Informix Developer Edition 11.70.FC5 has beyond CPU VPs, disk and memory. KN Liew Liew cited documentation on a connection limit for persistent connections and said a test a year earlier showed a 20-session limit, referring Ulf to the release notes. No authoritative figure was confirmed.

We are planning to use DE in our development and test environment. I am aware of the limitations to CPU VP's, disk and memory as described in http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/data/library/techarticle/dm-0801doe/.
Is there any other limitations ? I believe that I saw a limitation of number of sessions but can't find that.
TIA
Ulf

Limitations on Persistent Connections
If your application creates multiple connections to IDS, or uses middleware
that creates multiple persistent connections to the data server, make sure
that the number of connections does not exceed the Developer Edition
connection limit. When you deploy your application on another edition of
IDS without the connection limit, remember to increase the number of
persistent connections to match the expected production workload.
Examples of middleware that create multiple persistent connections to the
data server are connection pools, and PHP settings such as *
ifx.max_persistent* or *odbc.max_persistent* in the *php.ini* file.
