-461 Error on system call.

I'm trying to execute a system call within a stored procedure - the procedure gets called remotely via ODBC. The problem is, the application that is called from within the stored procedure is trying to connect to the database and returns with error code -461 (File Open Error) which makes no sense. Has anyone come across this before, or seen anything like it ? I'm running Informix 7.23 on Windows NT Server 4.0. Any help would be apprecitated. Cheers. Ray.
