Sigh, Here we go again with some moron who probably has some options on Informix stock coming due and wants to hype them. What is really pathetic is that he is telling a blatently false statement. Here is what a broker sent me. 8/8/97 9:55 AM... Informix (ifmx 9-1/8) Down 1-1/8, posts $0.79 2nd Qtr Loss, Including $62.1M restructuring charge on $164.7M in revenues ... To restate '96 Financial Statements .... Everen downgrades to long term underperform from outperform... Analyst Bill Lanzon tells salesforce qtr very poor.... Says new management is trying to start with clean slate, will restate '96 results... However, says Good people have already left Co ... Believes will take Management at least 3Qtrs to turn things around.... Maintains short term underperform. Now the source of this statement is Prudential Bache. They no longer have direct coverage since Jaime Keegan left around a year ago. However, while this news, which can be confirmed tells of the restatement of '96. Unlike this bozo, the analysts think/know that the results won't be too good. Hint: They still haven't found a CFO! If you want to see what Informix has to say, hit their website. They have a message from their new CEO Finnochio (?sp?). As to mass defections, Col Panic, are you there? Jack Parker, are you there? Johnathan Leffler, are you there? Clem, I know you are still there! (I think all the others are there too!) [I could go on with that list, but hey you get the point!] Now what can you do? You can complain to abuse@netcom.com about this lusers postings. Who is this luser? sunborn.ix.netcom.com is the address he posted from. whois stocks4tomorrow.com? > Stocks For Tomorrow (STOCKS4TOMORROW-DOM) > 19909 Gardenia Dr > Jupiter, FL 33469 > USA > > Domain Name: STOCKS4TOMORROW.COM > > Administrative Contact: > Schultz, Mark (MS2542) mschultz@WALTECH.COM > (407) 743-6115 > Technical Contact, Zone Contact: > Howell, Scott (SH1012) scott@WALTECH.COM > 407-626-6969 > > Record last updated on 20-Oct-96. > Record created on 25-Apr-96. > Database last updated on 10-Aug-97 05:10:20 EDT. > > Domain servers in listed order: > > MIA.WALTECH.COM 205.129.222.2 > KNOCK.SER.BBNPLANET.NET 192.239.16.129 A simple traceroute shows that their upstream provider is bbnplanet.net (AT&T). So you can also complain to abuse@bbnplanet.net. Based on their comments, you can also complain the the SEC and report them for an attempt to manipulate stock prices. This type of activity is illegal and doesn't belong here in comp.databases.informix. BTW, This is also the same Guy, Mark Schutz who posted here a few months back about the rumor that Microsoft was going to buy Informix if the price dropped down to 6. Do you remember that thread? ..... We now return you back to your regularly scheduled comments which are germane to your respective newsgroups! You know who.
